Blomsma Signs & Safety for total signage update Chevron P9 Horizon

Geplaatst op 22 July 2014

Blomsma Signs & Safety has received the contract for a major overhaul and update of the safety signage for the Chevron Exploration and Production Netherlands BV operated P9 Horizon offshore platform.

After the previous and ongoing projects on the A12-CPP and Q1 Helder offshore platform, realized within the service agreement between Blomsma and Chevron, the P9 Horizon platform situated in the Dutch North Sea is the next in line.

The Chevron P9 Horizon platform is a manned oil platform where Blomsma previously performed several projects. The focus of the project lies in the maintenance of signage present, the installation of new safety signage, installation of pipe marking and removal of old pipe markers, application of tank markings, installation of SafeGuard® Antislip covers (including with hand on railing text integrated panels) and updating of evacuation plans and safety instruction cards in the cabins.

Based on a inspection survey conducted by Blomsma and Chevron, a revised sign plan acts as the basis for the signage update. Any relevant changes in laws and regulations are also included, such as safety symbols in accordance with ISO7010 for escape routes, fire fighting and rescue equipment. The GHS hazard symbols on pipes and tanks will be displayed at the new markings to be applied to pipes and tanks.

The installation will be performed by Blomsma technicians under the supervision of an assigned project engineer, who is also responsible for the currently ongoing signage project on the Chevron Q1 Helder platform with an identical scope.
