Blomsma Signs & Safety is pleased to announce that we have won a contract to supply safety signage system for 50Hertz‘ Ostwind 3 Offshore Substation (OSS) platform. Ostwind 3 is the third offshore grid connection project for wind farms northeast of the island of Rügen. The designated Windanker wind farm area is located in the Westlich Adlergrund area, north of the Wikinger and Arkona operational wind farms, connected by 50Hertz under Ostwind 1. The Windanker wind farm area is 25 square kilometers in size and will be built and operated by the Spanish company Iberdrola Renovables with its German subsidiary Windanker GmbH.
The contract was awarded to Blomsma Signs & Safety by Interdam, which in turn was engaged by the construction consortium HSI, consisting of HSM Offshore Energy, Smulders and Iv-Offshore & Energy, to perform a substantial part of the architectural work. Within Interdam’s scope are the platform’s safety signage, safety drawings and identification signs.
Our approach includes careful planning and preparation of a signage plan, which after client approval, is produced in-house and installed on site. All safety signage must comply with ASR, DIN, relevant IMO/SOLAS legislation, ISO standards, CAP437 (for platform identification signs) with extra attention to Blomsma Signs & Safety’s quality standard for offshore signage. .
